For production teams, the practical rules are simple. Name the grade in writing. State the thickness and tolerance. Appoint the tannery. Inspect every delivery and grade what you accept. Plan yield realistically, because leather cutting wastes far more than fabric cutting. Then match the finish to the climate and the usage — and match the warranty to the grade.

Do that, and the leather you approve in sampling is the leather your customers will still be carrying a decade later.
